HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) former MP and Honorary President Ertuğrul Kürkçü has been sentenced to two years in prison because of a speech he gave at Newroz celebration in Iğdır province in 2016.
Kürkçü is also standing trial because of three other speeches he gave in Mardin and Amed in 2012, 2015 and 2016. Up to 33 years prison sentence is sought for the HDP politician.
