Two years without lawyers
Two years have passed since Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan was last allowed to see his lawyers. It was 27 July 2011 when Öcalan last had a meeting with his legal representatives. Since then the Turkish authorities have rejected any request made by the lawyers to see their client.
The reasons given to the lawyers for deniying them the meetings have been always the same: ferry not working, bad wheather conditions. Despite this the lawyers have been requesting to visit the Kurdish leader twice a week.
