Political genocidal and banning practices of the AKP-MHP government continue. The Van Governorate announced that the march that the People's Democratic Party (HDP) will start on Monday from Hakkari and Edirne has been “forbidden” entry and exit to the city saying it followed advice by the Provincial Sanitary Board.

The statement said: "The actions / activities planned to be carried out in all kinds of open spaces and the people and vehicles coming to our provincial borders to support this action are prohibited from entering the city. Likewise exit from our province with the purpose of participating in the action / event planned to take place in other provinces is also banned. All kinds of activities that could be organised under the name of welcoming and farewell are restricted within our provincial borders. All open air meetings are banned.”
