Victims of Suruç and Ankara massacres commemorated in Istanbul

Victims of the Ankara and Suruç bombings were commemorated by their families and friends in Istanbul.

The Suruç Families Initiative commemorated Polen Ünlü, Şennur Ünlü and Hatice Ezgi Sadet who were among the 33 young people killed in 2015 by Turkey-backed ISIS members in Suruç district of Urfa province, and victims of the 2016 Ankara bombing at the Ihlamurkuyu Cemetery in Ümraniye (Istanbul) to mark their 7th death anniversary and on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha.

Şemsettin Ünlü, the father of Polen Ünlü and the husband of Şennur Ünlü, Özgen Sadet, the older sister of Hatice Ezgi Sadet, Uğur Ok and Koray Türkay, who were injured in Suruç, as well as members of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF), the Voice of the Immortals and the Prisoners Platform, the Anatolia Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families Who Lost their Relatives (ANYAKAYDER) and representatives of several non-governmental organizations also attended the commemoration event.

The families announced once again that they embraced the struggle of their children.
