HDP’S DIVERSITY ATTRACTS EVERYONE
Hülya Kartal from the HDP office in New York described the atmosphere at the polls as diverse and vibrant, where dedicated HDP volunteers have been working everyday since May 16. According to Kartal, women and religious and ethnic minority groups make up the majority of their volunteers, and this diversity attracts voters.
Kartal also highlighted the interest the HDP election campaign receives from voters who have traditionally voted for other parties: ‘Especially former CHP voters show great interest in HDP principles, representation, and discourse. Some have even volunteered at our events and we organized together!’
HDP NEW YORK VOLUNTEERS ORGANIZE A TRANSPORTATION CAMPAIGN
Kartal stated that the HDP New York office has reached out to more than 5,000 voters in the Northeast this month, and expects the interest in the HDP to grow even more. Lastly, Kartal added that HDP volunteers raised donations in order to cover the transportation expenses of voters that commute from across the Northeast to New York City for voting purposes.
