Speaking to ANHA news agency, residents of the village of al-Halwa, which was cleared of ISIS as part of the Operation Cizîrê Storm, expressed their happiness over the liberation of their village from Islamic State repression by the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Salêm El-Elûş reports years of severe repression and ill-treatment: "We knew that one day the SDF would come and save us. It is good that they are here and we are thankful that they have freed us."
