Women demand freedom for Öcalan

Well known women activists Dr. Þebnem Korur Fincancý, lawyer Eren Keskin, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Emine Ayna, writer and lawyer Ayþe Batumlu, Zübeyde Teker, BDP Deputy Ayla Akat Ata and Hürriyet Þener has formed the Platform Free Öcalan for Peace, informs DIHA News Agency.

The Platform issued a press release in which it stated that “No one can win by continue to kill. Make peace with Kurds not fight. Turned the clock back until the time when negotiations with Öcalan were suspended".

The statement asked to "Recognize Kurds and their rights to conciliate with Kurds. Recognize their leaders if you want to reconciliate with them. Let Öcalan free. All these military operations, arrests, burnt guerilla bodies, soldier funerals, all of them started after the negotiations with Öcalan were broke down. The negotiation with Öcalan means that; a step for peace, an address for intention for solution. But now, the war started by you took over all lives in cities and country sides. Give it up. You cannot win by arresting or killing more and more people. If you conciliate Kurds, you will win lives against deaths. Recognize freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and started negotiations, immediately. Bring peace to this country. Peace will give our lives back.”
