European Yazidi Coordination made a written statement regarding the imprisonment of DTK (Democratic Society Congress) co-chair Leyla Güven.

The statement said, "The arrest of Leyla Güven has once again revealed that fascism cannot be resolved by itself, on the contrary, it can only be crashed by an unprecedented democratic resistance struggle.

The statement emphasized that the AKP-MHP government can only be made to a step back through struggle:

"The people's response to fascism with a full-scale democratic resistance by using all means and possibilities is the only option that can make fascism retreat. The AKP-MHP alliance's intensification of attacks against Rojava shows that the fascist mentality of destruction will not change.

It is clear that Leyla Güven represents the will of an organized and free Kurd, and therefore she is the target of fascism and is arrested."
