A police officer in Çaldýran district of Van has allegedly badly beaten a citizen who had knocked his house door last night by mistake. The wounded boy, Ensar Aladað, has been put into intensive care.

According to a report by Dicle News Agency (DIHA), computer seller Ensar Aladað knocked the door of a police officer when he went to Yýldýrým Apartment to repair the internet connection problem of one of his customers. Aladað by mistake knocked the door of an unnamed police officer. A discussion broke out between the officer and Aladað while he was trying to explain the situation and apologized for his mistake. Eyewitnesses told that the police officer had meanwhile knocked Aladað out and hit him on the head with his gun. Aladað lost his balance and fainted because of the hits, while the police officer continued to attack him until he could be calmed down by a neighbor, Fettah Yýldýrým.

Ensar Aladað who was soon after taken to Van State Hospital with suspected brain trauma still faces the risk of death. The police officer was taken to police station by officers who came at the scene after the event.
