Mine workers whose marching from Soma to Ankara were blocked by the gendarmerie. The miners received the support of young people in Istanbul. 

Zeynep Köken read a statement on behalf of the Youth Committees in support of the over  3,500 mine workers who were dismissed from their jobs by Soma Holding and Uyar Mining.

The miners are marching to Ankara to reclaim their rights.

301 mineworkers were killed in an explosion in 2014 at a coal mine owned by Soma Holding. Workers said they will walk for one kilometer for each one of the killed workers.
