As the resistance in Kobanê continues in its 222nd day, the YPG Press Centre has issued a statement saying 48 ISIS gang members have been killed in recent clashes in villages to the south of Kobanê city and in Cizîrê (Jazireh) canton.

The YPG Press Centre said clashes were continuing in the Til Ebrê and Girê Sor areas to the southeast of Kobanê. Many gang members were killed or wounded in these clashes. The YPG said 6 of their fighters and one Burkan El Firat fighter had also died in these clashes. 9 gang members were killed after gang attacks on YPG positions near the village of Sina to the south of Kobanê were repulsed. 5 AK 47s, 1,500 AK 47 bullets, 2 B7 rocket launchers, 24 magazines and 13 hand grenades were also seized by the YPG forces.7 gang members were also killed in clashes near the village of Metrês and surviving gang members were forced to flee. 3 rifles, 10 magazines and a hand grenade were seized.

27 gang members killed in Cizîrê canton

In Cizîrê (Jazireh) canton clashes are continuing in border areas. The YPG press statement said that 27 gang members had been killed in clashes 17 kilometres to the west of Til Temir, while 2 YPG fighters had also died in the clashes.
