The revolutionary operations launched by the YPG (People's Defense Units) on 26 December between Qamişlo and Tirbespiyê are continuing.

According to reports received from the region, YPG units have liberated the villages of Ebû Tiwêna, Quwêtle ve Metmuse to the north of the town of Til Hemis from the clutches of armed groups affiliated to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), linked to Al Qaeda.

It is reported that clashes have intensified around the village of Emurus and that the siege of Til Hemis by units of the YPG is continuing.

YPG units took over the town of Tel Berek, which had been under the control of Al Tawhid and the Al Nusra Front for eight months, on 27 December. After the YPG drove out the armed groups the inhabitants began to return to their homes. It is reported that the armed groups had plundered the wheat stores and official buildings in the town.
