Conference of Rojava universities continues in Qamishlo

The conference of academies and universities of Northern Syria continues in Qamishlo in its second day.

The Universities and Academies of Rojava and Northern Syria are holding a two-day conference on the development of a common examination system and discussion of problems at the universities.

The conference that kicked off on Friday is organized by the Rojava University, Kobanê University, Afrin University and Mesopotamia Academy.

The Conference, which is taking place on the main campus of Rojava University in Qamishlo, started to develop a common examination system and to discuss problems at the universities on Friday.

On the first day of the conference, above all, the reports of the three universities and the draft of a university system were presented and discussed. The second day continues with the discussion about the proposed models of cooperation and self-organization of universities.

Dr. Îbrahim Seydo Aydoğan, Head of the Kurdology (Kurdish Studies) Department at Sorbonne University, who joined the conference via Skype, said they appreciated the works of the universities in Rojava and in Northern Syria. Aydoğan said: "We are following these efforts with the utmost attention and are in dialogue with the work colleagues and academics here. In addition, we are preparing with our colleagues here to travel to Northern Syria and develop some projects there.”
