Kindergarten in Derik named after Sara Mustafa

Little Sara Mustafa was killed in an attack of the Turkish army on November 1st, 2018.

Derik children and their families and teachers attended the opening of Martyr Sara nursery school.

Feriz Ibrahim, deputy co-chair of the Education Committee of Jazira Region, and Seyda Hena from Derik District Council spoke at the opening ceremony.

In the speeches, it was recalled how the nursery was named after little Sara Mustafa, the 6 years old girl who lost their life in Girê Spî, killed by the occupying Turkish army on 1 November.

The ceremony was held in the garden of the nursery Derik.

The speeches also underlined that with the opening of the kindergarten, the educational activities will be continued and new generations of children will be raised.

After the speeches, Kulîlkên Azadîye children group belong to Derik Culture and Art Center staged their performance.
