Medical Center in Mabruka camp provides free healthcare

The medical center set up in the Mabruka camp provides free healthcare for at least 100 patients daily.

There were over 3,000 migrants in the camp set up in Serekaniye’s Mabruka town in the Heseke Canton. The Health Committee partnered with the Heyva Sor A Kurd and launched a medical center in the camp in 2016 to provide free healthcare. Heyva Sor played the biggest role in the realization of the medical center and continues to provide medicine for the treatment of chronic illnesses. Patients with more severe issues are taken to the Roj Hospital in Serekaniye.

With the gang attacks during SDF operations against ISIS, the camp’s population rose to 27,000. The medical center managed to handle the increased population with support from Heyva Sor a Kurd and the Serekaniye Union of Doctors.

Serekaniye Regional Health Directorate Board Member Ebduleziz Mio said the medical services and medicine are provided completely free of charge and patients are transferred to other hospitals when necessary. Mio said the medical center is open 24 hours a day and serves at least 100 patients a day.
