The human shield action against the threats issued by the Turkish state to Northern and Eastern Syria has reached day 21 in Girê Spî. Scores of residents visit the action every day.
Speaking at the event, Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) executive Ilham Ehmed evaluated the political developments in the region.
Ilham Ehmed said that the United States have caused all the states to develop new political moves with its decision to withdraw from Syria. She added that Turkish President Erdogan asked many states for permission to invade Northern and Eastern Syria.
Ehmed pointed out that Erdogan is using different pretexts and religious values to justify an attack against Syria. “With this policy, - she said - Erdogan wants to win the people of the region. However, however attacks against the Islamic community are seen by everyone.”
Ehmed gave information about the MSD’s recent talks with France, and said they asked France to keep the Northern and Eastern Syria fly zone closed and to fulfill their responsibilities against the threats of occupation.
Noting that Kurds have not fought against any party since the Syrian crisis erupted, Ehmed said: “We defended life in our areas and blocked the attempts to divide Syria. We never closed the door to dialogue with any party, especially with the Syrian regime, wanting security and peace in the region.”
