Thousands protest against Turkish invasion in Shehba

“We are ready for any sacrifice necessary to achieve a free and peaceful life against the occupation of the Turkish state and allied mercenaries,” said the women in Shehba region.

In the Shehba Canton, which is under the daily attack of the Turkish army, thousands of people protested against Turkey’s attacks and threats of invasion.

Masses joined a march promoted by women’s movement Kongreya Star in the Ehdas district, carrying posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, flags of Kongreya Star and the Council of Martyrs’ Families.

The march continued till the village of Marata al-Mislimiya where a minute’s silence was observed for all those who lost their lives in the revolutionary struggle.

Speaking here, Kongreya Star executive Wehîda Xelîl said; “We promise to liberate our people from the invaders and mercenaries through our struggle.”

A statement by Kongreya Star emphasised that; “We are ready for any sacrifice necessary to achieve a free and peaceful life against the occupation of the Turkish state and allied mercenaries.”

Remarking that the Turkish state’s goal was to occupy the entire region and to revive ISIS, the Kongreya Star statement added; “We, women of Afrin, will be protecting our revolution in the spirit of resistance we inherited from Barîn Kobanê, Avesta Xabûr, Eylem Têkoşîn, Bêrîvan and Meryem.”
