3 women killed as Turkey-backed armed groups clash in occupied Afrin

Three women, one of whom was pregnant, were killed during the armed clashes between the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and the Front Shamiyê in the northern Syrian city of Afrin under Turkish occupation.

According to local sources, the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Front Shamiyê groups engaged in an armed conflict with heavy weapons and tanks in Afrin, which has been occupied by the Turkish state since March 2018.

Following the clashes, a pregnant woman named Fatima Mehmûd El Ebid from the Kurzêlê village of the Sherawa district, and two other women whose names could not be identified were killed and several children were injured.

It is further reported that the HTS and the Front Shamiyê bombed each other's military bases in Sherawa.
