5,000 hectares of agricultural land near Til Temir occupied

The occupation troops occupied 5,000 hectares of fields around Til Temir. 2,000 hectares of crops ready for harvest have been burned.

The Til Temir district in northern Syria, which is predominantly inhabited by Syriacs, overlaps in part with the territories occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries. About 5,000 hectares of agricultural land are occupied and cannot be handled.

At the same time, the Turkish state is systematically attacking the economy of the region. According to the Til Temir agricultural committee, 2,000 hectares of grain ready for harvest have been burned down by the occupying forces in this district alone. Due to the occupation, many farmers cannot work their fields and suffer great economic damage.

Dildar Yûsif of the economic committee says: "Above all, the wheat fields of the population of the region around Til Temir are set on fire. So far, more than 2,000 hectares of grain ready for harvest have been destroyed in the Til Temir and Zirgan area. When the people try to save and extinguish their harvest, the Turkish troops or their militias do not allow it. They don't let anyone enter the burning fields, but target anyone who comes near their weapons.”

Harvest from the occupied fields taken to Turkey

Yûsif further tells that the occupation troops have looted silos and warehouses and are taking the loot to Turkey. This puts the population in an extremely difficult situation.
