Co-chairs and several officials from the autonomy held a press conference in central Afrin and called for support against Turkish invasion.

An official read the statement by Afrin’s autonomy in front of the administration building. Some officials held posters that show civilians killed by the Turkish state.

“Turkish state and its gangs deliberately target civilians and commit mass killings with warplanes and heavy weapons in the last nine days. Several children, women and innocent civilians were killed in these attacks. Most of the victims are the refugees from other parts of Syria who escaped the conflict” the statement read.

The statement highlighted Syrian Democratic Forces’ resistance and said that Turkish army couldn’t advance against the determined SDF fighters.

“The people of Afrin responded the invaders by saying: either victory in Afrin castle or death” the officials said.

Afrin’s Democratic Autonomy urged the international community to take a stance against Turkish state’s attacks.
