Hundreds of thousands of civilians living in Afrin had to leave their homes due to barbaric attacks of the Turkish state and affiliated gangs with warplanes and heavy weaponry against their living areas. The displaced people of Afrin, who are living under challenging circumstances, say they will not accept a life under invasion and they are waiting for the regions under occupation to be cleared of invaders

Elî Mihemed from Afrin stated that YPG and YPJ forces have protected them since the first day Syrian war erupted, saying; “We believe that YPG and YPJ will clear Afrin of invaders. We have full trust in our fighters and we will be supporting them to the end.”

Regarding the looting perpetrated by the gangs in Afrin, Elî Mihemed said; “They are bombing the mosques in Afrin by speaking of Islam. The history will write these days and invaders will be brought to account.”

Meryem Reşîd told that the Turkish state savagely bombed civilians with warplanes and heavy weaponry, continuing; “They looted all our belongings. We have nothing left. However, everyone should know that a life in ruins here is much better than a life with the invading Turkish state and gangs.”

Izedîn Delo also believes that YPG/YPJ will clear Afrin of invaders who -he says- have no place in Afrin.

Remarking that there is no difference between the Turkish state and ISIS gangs, another resident from Afrin, Suad Fereh, stressed that YPG/YPJ forces have fulfilled their responsibility for the protection of the people so far, and will continue doing the same now and in the future.
