The Aleppo Workers' Union held its conference under the slogan "We are building a moral democratic society with the labor and unity of the workers".

The conference was held in the Telet Aleppo hall, located in the eastern part of the neighbourhood of Şêxmeqsûd in Aleppo, and saw the participation of workers, producers and General Assembly representatives from the neighbourhoods of Şêxmeqsûd (Sheikh Maqsoud) and Eşrefiye (Ashrafiyah).

Zozan Mihemed, co-chair of the Aleppo civil society organizations Council, read Leader Abdullah Öcalan's statements on the role of workers.

Mihemed said: "The Rojava Revolution has come a long way, but despite this, it is not correct to say that the revolution has developed entirely in line with the ideology and philosophy of the social revolution. There are two aspects that need to be implemented for this. The first is to strengthen the role of women in the revolution and the second is to strengthen the philosophy of the democratic nation."

Avaşin Afrin, President of the General Assembly of the neighbourhoods of Şêxmeqsûd and Eşrefiye, commented on the political situation and said: "The First World War is not different from the Third World War. Both wars manifest themselves as economic, political and demographic wars."

Drawing attention to the threatening letters sent to Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Avaşin described it as a threat to the peoples of the Middle East and said: "Since the beginning of the Second World War, the dominant and dark forces have been trying to disrupt the democracy project as it is. They see democratic projects as a threat to their own system."

At the end of her speech, Avaşin Afrin called on women and youth to strengthen the struggle for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Co-chair of civil society organizations Zozan Mihemed read the biennial report of the Workers' Union. The report included the organizational status of the employees, the activities carried out and the suggestions made.

Then, the co-chair of civil society organizations, Ebdulhemid Mistefa, read the statute of the Northern and Eastern Syria Workers' Union.

Participants expressed their opinions and suggestions for the improvement of the union work.

At the end of the conference, the co-chair and 15 members of the Workers' Union Assembly were elected.
