The Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration handed over 10 children whose families were ISIS members staying in Roj Camp in Dêrik to Russia.
A Russian delegation visited the Foreign Relations Department in Qamishlo on Thursday. The Russian delegation, consisting of Elena Alexandrova, Deputy Head of the Russian Child Rights Commissioner and Sergey Igorvich, was received by Kemal Akif, spokesperson of the Foreign Relations Department of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Region.
The documents and protocols prepared between the two parties regarding the delivery of the children at the meeting were signed by Elena Alexandrova and Kemal Akif.
Afterwards, Kemal Akif told the press that 10 children whose families were members of ISIS were officially handed over to the Russian Child Institution Bureau delegation and added: "So far, 254 children have been officially delivered to Russia.”
Elena Alexandrova, on the other hand, thanked the Autonomous Administration for the joint work on this issue and underlined that the work would continue.
