Campaign launched in Sulaymaniyah for no-fly zone over Rojava

The Rojava Solidarity Front launched a petition campaign in Sulaymaniyah for the closure of the airspace of North and East Syria. Signatures will be submitted to the United Nations.

The Solidarity Support Front set up booths in front of the Nali and Azadi parks in Sulaymaniyah to collect signatures for a no-fly zone over North and East Syria.

People showed great interest in the campaign and signed the petition. The signature campaign will continue for one more week.

“Our aim is to ask the United Nations to close Rojava airspace to Turkish and Syrian fighter jets to avoid further destruction,” Rojava Solidarity Front member and journalist Zanko Serdar told Rojnews.

Serdar remarked that the collected signatures would be submitted to the United Nations and the European Union.

Petition campaigns have also been launched by women's organizations and human rights organizations in other cities of Kurdistan and other countries.
