The Rojava Committee established in Gävle has announced to the public the work plan for the boycott of Turkish tourism and Turkish products before the Christmas holidays.
Malin Åkerlund, spokesperson of the Gävle Rojava Committee, published a statement on social media about the boycott events to be launched on December 23rd.
The campaign leaflet was sent to all political parties and media outlets. The statement exposes the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by the Turkish state in Rojava and northern Syria, and called on Swedish citizens to boycott Turkish tourism and products.
Kurds and their friends will be campaigning from 23 to 30 December in front of shopping centers in the province carrying banners demanding the boycott of Turkey and will distribute leaflets.
There will also be screenings of the film “Sara” (about Sakine Cansiz) on 9 January. This film will be followed by the screening of “Resistance is life” and “Girls of the sun”.
The Gävle Rojava Committee underlined that while Swedish people celebrate the Christmas holiday, Turkish soldiers and mercenaries carry out massacres in Rojava forcing people to leave their homes.
The names and brands of Turkish products sold in food markets and shops in Sweden have been listed by the Rojava Committee which also underlined that “buying these products means helping to finance Erdogan's attacks on Kurdish and other minority peoples.
Murders and abductions continue every day in Rojava. Many children are victims of war. The raisins and walnuts you buy contribute to the genocide.”
