Demo against the isolation of Öcalan in Kobane

The crowd called on women and youth to enhance the struggle to counter the isolation of the Kurdish leader.

Young Women’s Union organised a demonstration in Kobane to protest at the aggravated isolation policy imposed by the Turkish regime on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Jina Azad (Free Woman) Square and marched to the al-Salam Square with portraits of the Kurdish leader and banners calling for an end to his isolation.

The march was followed by a rally at al-Salam Square where Sheran District Council Co-president Mecida Hesun read the joint statement of Kongreya Star and Young Women’s Union.

The statement commended the Kurdish leader’s resistance on Imralı and condemned the isolation regime he is subjected to.

“The peoples in the region are fighting for their honor and freedom, and struggling for great leader Öcalan”, said the statement and stressed that the conspiracy against him will never achieve its goal.
