One year has passed since the liberation of Raqqa from DAESH mercenaries and the Autonomous Administration has taken huge steps to bring the city back to life.
Huge steps have been taken in Raqqa in the 12 months since its liberation from DAESH mercenaries.
There are 81 bakeries in the city and they are being provided quality wheat produced by mills opened some eight kilometres north of the city.
Raqqa needs 150 tons of flour a day, and at this moment 35 tons of wheat are milled daily. The remaining flour is currently being brought to Raqqa from other mills in Northern Syria.
The flour produced by the Raqqa Mills Institution is distributed in different quantities depending on the rate of population in the regions where the furnaces are located.
Flour is delivered to predetermined ovens daily by the vehicles of the same institution.
During the DAESH occupation, the majority of ovens and bakeries in the region had been destroyed which is why after the city was liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) the bakeries were struggling to get the proper tools and machineries to ensure production of bread.
In addition, access to ovens in rural areas is a challenge for the institution.
Predictions said that Raqqa, which is considered as one of the agricultural areas of Syria, will have enough wheat stock by July 2019.
The director of the Raqqa Mills Institution, Beshir Abidi, told ANHA that the Institution was opened immediately after the liberation of the city and is planning to open new bakeries to respond to the needs of the city.
