Cizre Region’s Human Rights Association Executive Member Evîn Cûma said that Turkey committed a war crime by killing 3 children and injuring 3 others on April 24.
The invading Turkish state and its mercenaries bombed the village of Eyn El Ebid in the east of Til Temir district on April 24. The attack killed brothers Meryem Xidir Iwês (10), Itîdal Iwês (9) Ebdulezîz Xidir Iwês (8) and injured Mihemed Salih Xidir Iwês (8) and Zehir Xidir Iwês (14). The treatment of the injured children continues at the Jiyan Hospital in Hesekê.
Cizre Region’s Human Rights Association Executive Member Cûma spoke to ANHA about the deadly attack.
Cûma noted that the attack was not the first one by the Turkish state and its mercenaries against the region. She said: "Attacks and bombings against the region have been continuing since the occupation of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi. As a result of the attacks, numerous people, including children, were seriously injured and became disabled.”
Cûma pointed out that people in the region were exposed to crimes against humanity. She added: “The attacks of the invading Turkish state and its mercenaries pose a threat not only to Til Temir but also to all North and East Syria. Besides forced migration, citizens cannot reap their harvest from the fields due to attacks.”
Cuma urged all human rights organizations not to remain silent in the face of the increasingly ongoing attacks by the invading Turkish state and allied mercenaries.
