Families of martyrs rally for Öcalan in Dêrik

People of Rojava continue their protests for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Families of martyrs organised a demonstration in Dêrik city of Rojava demanding immediate access to Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan after media reports of a fire on the Imralı Island where he is held together with Veysi Aktaş, Hamili Yıldırım and Ömer Hayri Konar.

Thousands gathered at the Freedom Square and marched through the main streets of the city demanding an end to the aggravated isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader.

The march was followed by a rally at the Martyrs’ Square where Hesen Ubeyd, co-chair of the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Cizire Region, addressed the crowd and stressed that they will not leave the streets until Öcalan is heard from.
