First technology fair opens in Northern and Eastern Syria
A technology fair, the first of its kind in Northern and Eastern Syria, opened in Qamishlo and saw the participation of 24 companies and inventors in the region.
A technology fair, the first of its kind in Northern and Eastern Syria, opened in Qamishlo and saw the participation of 24 companies and inventors in the region.
The fair was organized by Rcell Company at the Zana Hall in Qamishlo, and exhibited projects developed by Rojava University students, as well as many technological products.
Representatives of Autonomous Administration institutions, political party members and many citizens visited the exhibition on the first day.
The Co-chair of the Northern and Eastern Syria Economic Board, Dr. Mihemed Shewqi and Autonomous Administration Liaison Office co-chair Gandi Hesen opened the exhibition.
Making a short speech at the opening, Rcell Commercial Manager Hisen Badili said: "The opening of such a fair is an important development for the region. We opened it with the understanding that it is an opportunity for inventors to exhibit their products."
Dr. Mihemed Shewqi, on the other hand, said that the opening of the first technology fair is “an important step, and that such work will improve the people and economy of the region.”
Shewqi added that the Autonomous Administration, through all its institutions, attaches importance to the technology sector and supports such developments.
KNK Executive Committee member Ekrem Hiso said: "The opening and development of such fairs in Northern and Eastern Syria is an indication that the Autonomous Administration and the people of the region want to develop and increase research in this region."
The technology exhibition will be open today from 10am to 7pm. Technology seminars and competitions will be held at the exhibition.
