Free Press Union condemns attacks on Northern Syria

The Free Press Union (YRA) issued a written statement on the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army which resulted in the wounding of two ANHA journalists.
The statement also condemned the ongoing international silence against these attacks.
YRA statement said: "The occupying Turkish army has been attacking the villages of Kobanê and Girê Spî in the last few days with medium and heavy weapons, targeting civilians.
These attacks against the people of Northern Syria continue with the silence of the international community and the press.
In the attacks against Girê Spî carried out by the occupying Turkish army, 12-year-old Sara Rifet Mustafa was martyred.
Turkey also attacked Northern Syria today, 2 November. Hawar News Agency (ANHA) reporters Gulistan Mihemed and Ibrahim Ehmed were wounded as a result of such attacks. The journalists two were wounded while following news of attacks in the al-Minbetêh neighborhood.
İbrahim Ehmed’s condition is improving while Gulîstan Mihemed has been seriously injured by parts of a rocket which hit her body.
The statement condemned the attacks and called on all journalists’ organizations and unions around the world to take a clear stance on the attacks carried out by the Turkish state.
