The Northern and Eastern Syria People's Initiative, under the coordination of the Abdullah Öcalan Freedom Initiative-Syria, launched a campaign on 22 January with the slogan "The peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria call for an end to the isolation of Leader Öcalan and for his physical freedom."
The organizers of the campaign reported that they have collected more than 892,000 signatures so far.
The People's Initiative announced that they had collected approximately 30,460 signatures in the towns, districts and villages of the Afrin and Shehba cantons.
According to ANHA, Abdullah Öcalan Freedom Tabqa Committee member Mahmud El Isa stated that more than 100,000 signatures were collected across Tabqa.
Raqqa General Assembly Co-Chair Lûey El Îsa stated that more than 170,000 signatures were collected in the city center and its villages.
Fatme Marwan, Executive Co-Chair of Deir ez-Zor Democratic Civil Society Administration, noted that approximately 5,841 signatures were collected in the western region of Deir ez-Zor.
The Future of Syria Party, Deir ez-Zor Youth Assembly Spokesperson, Selam El İsa, informed that they have collected more than 520 signatures in the eastern region of Deir ez-Zor.
Kobanê Canton Assembly Co-chair Mistefa Ito stated that it has collected more than 51,000 signatures across the canton.
Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Manbij Committee Spokesperson Asya El Hisên said that more than 120,000 signatures have been collected in Manbij so far.
200,000 people in Hesekê Canton and more than 215,000 people in Qamishlo Canton signed the petition demanding freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The campaign is expected to continue until 15 February, the 24th anniversary of the International Conspiracy.
