General Assembly of the Autonomous Administration approves anti-smuggling law

The Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous General Assembly approved the law on people smuggling at its regular meeting and elected the new chair of the Women's Board.
In a statement on its official website, the Autonomous Administration announced the content of the 66th ordinary meeting of the Northern and Eastern Syria General Assembly.
According to the statement, Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration General Assembly co-chair, Ferîd Eti, members of the General Court, representatives of the Northern and Eastern Syria Internal Affairs Board and representatives of the Northern and Eastern Syria Social Justice Council were present.
The meeting started with the reading of the report from the previous meeting. Then, Justice Mihemed Omer, Head of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Women's Board, was elected instead of Cîhan Xidro.
At the meeting, some amendments were made to the fines in the smuggling law. Participants in the meeting held discussions on human smuggling activities in Northern and Eastern Syria.
At the end of the meeting, the law consisting of 13 articles was approved and will enter into force as of the date of its announcement by the General Assembly.
