Historic demo in Efrin tomorrow against Turkish invasion attempts

The people of Rojava's Efrîn Canton who never remained silent and did always mobilize against the Turkish state's invasion attempts will take to the streets tomorrow for a great demonstration.

Tens of thousands from Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), Self Defense Forces, Kongra Star, Êzidîs, Alevis and civilians are expected to join the massive march in Rojava's Efrîn Canton tomorrow against Turkey's AKP government that seeks to choke Rojava and design the region in accordance with its own interests.

The AKP-led Turkish state is preparing for an attack and invasion attempt against Efrîn and Shehba region of Rojava in an effort to take control of the region, eliminate the popular resistance and weaken the YPG forces' influence over the Northern Syria territory.

As debates continue for days over Turkey's invasion plan on Efrîn and border lines, gangs acting under the command of the Turkish army continue with their brutal practices that include forced evacuation of villages and displacement of the local people.

Last night's attacks by the invading Turkish army and affiliated gangs left civilians Meawi Hikmet Yusif, Teberek Hikmet Yusif and Xezalê El Ehmed Yusif dead and many others injured. By launching intensified attacks, the gangs aim to break the will of the people and establish a military zone in the region.

As the people of Rojava are mounting unbending resistance against ISIS gangs and their supporters with the Rojava Revolution, the people of Efrîn are leading this system with self-defense and strong will, and working for the building of co-existence among peoples in Northern Syria. Efrîn and Shehba territory houses a rich diversity of peoples, cultures and faiths.

The people of Efrîn say Russia's approval of Turkey's invasion will not help the accomplishment of this plan, stressing that they will stand against this invasion, enhance the resistance, stand with YPG forces and frustrate all the political plans based on interests in the region.
