Identity of SDF fighter killed in Turkish attack published

SDF fighter Sabrî Ehmed Ebdullah (Mazlum Doğan) lost his life as a result of a Turkish drone attack in Kobanê on Tuesday.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) published the name of a fighter who was killed in a Turkish drone attack in Kobanê on Tuesday.

"One of our heroes was martyred in a drone attack by the Turkish occupying state in the area of Kobanê. Our comrade Mazlum Doğan (Sabrî Ehmed Ebdullah) was on his way back to his area of responsibility when his vehicle was bombed," said the SDF Press Office in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Sabrî Ehmed Ebdullah was born in Kobanê-Qeremox in 1986 and joined the armed resistance in 2012. During the ISIS attack on Kobanê in 2014, he took part in the defence of the city, after which he fought against Turkish-backed mercenaries in various locations in the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria and was involved in several operations.

"He also fought against the occupation attacks of the Turkish state with great dedication. Our companion joined the caravan of martyrs and left behind a legacy of values and attachment to this country," the SDF said, offering their condolences to the family of Sabrî Ehmed Ebdullah and all families of martyrs, and vowing that the fight of the martyrs will continue.

For years, Turkey has been using drones for extralegal killings in the autonomous region of northern and eastern Syria. The attacks are directed against representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) structures, members of combat units and the civilian population. Since the beginning of the year, Turkey has carried out at least twelve drone attacks in northern Syria. Last year, Turkey carried out at least 130 drone attacks, killing 87 people and injuring 151 others.

On Monday evening, three children were killed in artillery attacks by the Turkish army near Til Temir, and two others were injured, some seriously.
