Afrin Canton Democratic Autonomous Administration had sent letters and issued calls to international organizations like the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the Arab League about the inhuman practices of the invading Turkish state and their allied gangs in Afrin and the plight of the people of Afrin who have been forced out of their homes by them.

Afrin Democratic Autonomous Administration Co-chair Hêvî Mustefa spoke to ANHA.

Hêvî Mustefa stated that the invading Turkish state and their allied gangs have massacred hundreds of people in Afrin and forced hundreds of thousands of people out of their homes: “The international public was silent in the face of these, and did nothing against the Turkish state’s practices. The international public kept its silence despite all our calls.”

Hêvî Mustefa said that after they crossed into the Shehba Canton, they continued their resistance in all areas and added: “We insist on showing the whole world what happened in Afrin, and we will continue to fight for it. We will show the truth of the facts Erdoğan distorts for the whole world.”

Hêvî Mustefa said they have exposed the inhuman practices and war crimes of the Turkish state in Afrin with the letters they have sent to international organizations: “We told the parties that the Turkish state has implemented in Afrin its plans to change the demographic makeup which they had been planning for the full 7 years of the Syrian conflict. We stated that Turkey wants to divide Syria.”

Hêvî Mustefa said the organizations haven’t responded to the letters yet, and added: “Their silence in the face of inhuman practices in Afrin continues. We are hoping that the relevant parties will fulfill their responsibilities and duties regarding the practices in Afrin.”

Hêvî Mustefa said the people of Afrin in the Shehba Canton should be delivered aid at once: “Committees should be formed to monitor the situation in Afrin. The return of the people of Afrin should be ensured.”
