Kobanê people march for Efrîn and freedom of Öcalan

The people of Rojava's Kobanê Canton took to the streets to salute Efrîn's resistance and to condemn the total isolation on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

People from Rojava's Kobanê Canton and its surrounding settlements took to the streets to salute Efrîn's resistance against the Turkish state's invasion attacks and condemn the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Turkish state.

Residents of Kobanê and surrounding villages attended the march upon the initiative of TEV-DEM (Movement for a Democratic Society) and were joined by Defense Council President Ismet Şêx Hesen, member of TEV-DEM Executive Council Member Ferhad Dêrik and YPG/YPJ fighters.

The mass set off from the village 'Small Donxiz' chanting slogans and holding pictures of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and placards and banners saying "People of Kobanê demand freedom for Öcalan", "We salute Efrîn's resistance" and "Long Live Efrîn's resistance".

The people marched until 'Big Donxiz' village where they gathered in front ot the local school and held a minute of silence for the fallen. TEV-DEM Executive Council Member Ferhad Dêrik spoke thereafter and said: "The people of Kobanê salute and support the resistance of Efrîn's people. Erdogan shall know that invasive aggressions won't ever dent the will of the people of Efrîn. These attacks can only bolster our strength and our commitment to our homeland. The people of Northern Syria will rise to tighten their unity when faced by the threat of occupation."

Member of Girdê Village People's House Administration Mehmûd Hesen held a short speech in which he condemned the current invasion attacks of the Turkish state on Efrîn Canton, whereafter the march ended with slogans saluting the resistance of Efrîn.
