Following clashes between gangs and the Turkish army in Afrin, gangs have started placing landmines in civilians’ homes.
Local sources in Afrin spoke to ANHA about the events in the region. The sources said civilians have been suffering because of tensions between the gangs and the invading Turkish army and added that the gangs were placing landmines in civilians’ homes against Turkish soldiers.
Local sources also said the tension between invaders came about when invading Turkish soldiers wanted to remove the gangs from the areas they controlled, and that the gangs placed landmines in civilians’ homes and used civilians as hostages.
It is civilians who suffered the worst in the recent clashes between gangs and Turkish soldiers. Tensions continue to run high in the area after the invading Turkish army clashed with the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya gangs in Afrin.
Meanwhile, the Turkish army continues to abduct civilians under the “Emîn El Siyasî” structure. Curfews have been declared in the Jindirese district and Afrin city center recently.
