In the last four days, many faithful militia leaders were killed in Afrin. This development deepens the contradictions between the Erdoğan regime and the jihadist militias who are abused as cannon fodder at the front.
The jihadist and far-right militias of the Turkish state suffer the heaviest losses in Afrin. When one looks at the balance of the last four days, it becomes clear that many militia leaders are among those killed. The leadership of a large part of these groups has been killed in Afrin. Among them are also leading cadres of the MIT-based Sultan Murad Brigades.
The militia leaders killed in recent days are:
March 14: Ahmed Ebu Safi, commander of Jabhat al-Shamiya.
March 12: FSA Commander Raid Muaz, FSA Lieutenant Colonel Munzir and FSA Lieutenant Nasr Hemadin.
March 12: Muhamed Ebu Abdul, member of the Shura Council of Jabhat al-Shamiya and Area Officer of Ahrar al-Sham.
March 11: Bahri Sami Heyani, Field Commander of Faylaq al-Sham.
March 11: Velid Muhamed Nayif, division commander of the Turkmen Sultan Murad Brigade.
March 10: Wail al-Musa, Commander-in-Chief of the so-called 1st FSA Army Corps (founded by Turkey) and Suheyl Kasim, media officer of the Samarkand Brigade (FSA).
