Martyr Hemze Kobanê laid to rest in Martyr Dicle Cemetery

Şêxmeqsûd and Eşrefiye Economic Committee member Hemze Kobanê, who was killed as a result of a bomb attack by the Turkish state, were buried at Martyr Dicle Cemetery.

Mihemed Yıldırım (Hemze Kobanê), a member of the Economy Committee of the Şêxmeqsûd Eşrefiye Assembly, who was killed in a Turkish state bomb attack on the Şêxmeqsûd district of Aleppo, on 24 February, was buried with a ceremony held in Kobanê Martyr Dîcle Martyrdom. YPJ fighter Aljin Ehmed (Nûjîn Kobanê), who was killed in Kobanê in 2014, was also commemorated at the ceremony.

Eyşe Efendi, co-chair of the Euphrates Region Martyrs' Families Council, said: “As mothers in Rojava, we mourn the death of a hero whose role was important in the fight against the special war. We will stand against the Turkish plans to the last drop of our blood. We will change the dark fate they are trying to impose on us. Our martyrs are the torches that illuminate our path. Those who intend to invade will definitely be defeated.”

Kobanê Canton Council co-chair Mistefa Êto said: "Martyrs are our truth. Leader Abdullah Öcalan has told us this truth with his thoughts and philosophy. Martyrs are real fighters who deserve respect. The war waged today is a war of existence and nonexistence, a war of freedom against oppression. This war is a war of freedom. "This is the third world war. They are fighting us with all their methods and targeting our fighters."

Deir ez-Zor Civil Council co-chair Mihemed Receb also took the floor and said: “Thanks to the martyrs, our region has become a safe place. The Turkish state is trying every way to destroy our democratic project."
