Martyrs El Mizel and El Îbrahîm laid to rest

Bender Mihemed Elî El Mizel, who fell a martyr as the result of the Turkish air attack against the SDF post in the village of Qeyrewan, and Xelef Salih Mihemed El Îbrahîm, who fell a martyr in Raqqa, were laid to rest.

Hundreds of people from Qamishlo Canton attended the funeral of Democratic Syrian Forces (SDF) fighter Bender Mihemed Eli El Mizel (Ugab Til Koçer), who fell as the result of the Turkish state's airstrike against the village of Qeyrewan, important for the security of Hol Camp. The attack took place on 5 May. El Mizel was buried in the Uqab El Eswed Cemetery in Til Koçer.

HPG guerrilla Muzaffer Elwan Derwîş (Egîd Zîlan), who died in the Zap region on 29 January 2023 due to health problems, was also commemorated at the ceremony.

Mihyedîn Xêrkî, one of the commanders of the Dêrik Military Council, drew attention to the invading Turkish state's attack on the post in the village of Qeyrewan in Til Hemîs, which provides the security of Hol Camp, and said that “the invading Turkish state wants to revive the ISIS gangs in the region with this attack.”

Husam Mubarek, Member of the Martyrs' Families Council, offered his condolences to the families of the two martyrs and promised that they would continue to carry out their struggle.

Til Koçer District Council co-chair Salih El Kino said: “The invading Turkish state's attacks will not hinder our desire for freedom,” and called for an enlargement of the struggle.

Funeral of Martyr Xelef in Raqqa

The funeral of SDF fighter Xelef Salih Mihemed El Ibrahim, who was killed in Raqqa last week, was attended by hundreds of Raqqa residents.

Raqqa Martyrs' Families Council member Matar El Shehil said that it is everyone's duty to follow the path of the martyrs to pursue military and political developments in the region.

Raqqa Military Council member Ehmed Al Mustefa noted that the only way to get rid of oppression and persecution is through sacrifice and added that his forces are ready to sacrifice themselves to defend Northern and Eastern Syria. "There are many political, military and economic challenges against Northern and Eastern Syria, so everyone should be ready to protect the region," said al-Mustafa.
