The Council of Martyrs’ Families organised a demonstration in Girkê Legê, Çilaxa and Til Kocher to protest against the US decision to put a bounty on three senior PKK executives, Cemil Bayık, Murat Karayılan and Duran Kalkan.

A banner saying 'With its decision, the US legitimizes the massacre of the Kurdish people carried out by the Turkish state' was opened during the march.

On the streets of Çilaxa, families of martyrs and hundreds of people chanted slogans condemning the US decision. The march ended with a meeting in the town square.

At the meeting, a press statement read by Shahid Ebdo on behalf of the Council of Martyrs’ Families emphasized that the sovereign states want to prevent the freedom struggle of the peoples.

The statement also called on the people of the region to mobilise against the US decision.
