The fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who fell as martyrs during the attacks by the Turkish state and its affiliated Syrian National Army (SNA) gangs on the Manbij Canton and the Qerekozax Bridge were buried in Raqqa.
Ehmed Ebdulhemîd Seyah, Elî Ehmed Yûsif, Elî Ehmed Mihemed, Ehmed Tamê from the SDF’s Commandos Forces, Îbrahîm Feysel Îbrahîm from the Internal Security Forces, and Xalid Welîd Benşî from the Self-Defense Forces were laid to rest at the Martyrs' Cemetery in the town of Hikumiyê. The funeral was attended by a large crowd.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence, followed by a speech by SDF commander Welîd Ebdo, who extended condolences to the martyrs’ families and the Kurdish people.
Ebdo said: "Our martyrs showed legendary resistance against the occupying Turkish state and its gangs in Manbij and the Qerekozax Bridge. We promise our martyrs that we will protect our lands, our people, and the achievements gained through their blood."
Sebrî Nebo expressed that they would continue to walk in the martyrs' footsteps, and added: "We will defeat the terror spread by the occupying Turkish state, which carries out massacres against civilians and tries to create division among the people."
The martyrdom certificates were then read out and handed over to the families.
