In Qamishlo, a wall of the city has been transformed into a memorial for the 33 young victims of the ISIS massacre in Suruç in 2015.
On July 20, 2015, dozens of young people from Turkey wanted to travel to Kobanê to bring toys to the children in the city destroyed by the Islamic State and to participate in the reconstruction.
"We defended together defended, we will build together" was the motto of the socialist youth organization SGDF, which had called for the trip. At the meeting point in the border town of Suruç, in Urfa, an ISIS suicide bomber blew himself up and killed 33 young people.
The pictures of the victims have now been immortalized on a wall of the city administration of Qamishlo, with a writing "Your dreams will be accomplished".
Previously, a park in Kobanê had been renamed "Park of Suruç Martyrs".
