The Syrian Democratic Council stressed that the US decision to withdraw its troops from Syria should not affect the International Coalition's mission in the region.
The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) issued a written statement about US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw their military forces from Syria. Emphasizing that they will continue to struggle in every field for the political solution of the Syrian crisis, the MSD said that the mission of the International Coalition created to fight DAESH should not change.
The statement is as follows:
"The US decision to withdraw its military forces from Syria, at the time when security in the region has not been yet fully provided and the new crisis prompted by Turkey’s threats of occupation, coincided in a new phase.
The Syrian Democratic council (MSD) warns that this [US] decision can deepen the Syrian crisis and open up new bloody and heavy wars in the region.
As a result of this decision, there is the danger of DAESH reorganising and once again spreading in the region, thus threatening international security.
Our military force, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is one of the main partners of the International Coalition fighting DAESH.
The US decision to withdraw its military forces from the region should not affect the anti-terror mission of the International Coalition, particularly the fight against DAESH, and the security of the people of the region. This withdrawal should not provoke a military crisis in the region or a new crisis that will lead the people of the region to disaster.
The Syrian Democratic Council is struggling for a peaceful and national solution to the Syrian crisis as a political and national force.”
