New actions for Öcalan in North and East Syria

People in the regions affiliated to the North and East Syrian Federation have been organising actions for six days demanding the removal of isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Demonstrations have been held in many cities in the Northern and Eastern Syrian Federation to demand the end of isolation of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

EUPHRATES REGION

Thousands of people marched against the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan in the Euphrates Region.

Activists came from the cities of Kobanê, Manbij, Girê Spî and Eyn Îsa and gathered at the entrance of the Qereqozaq Bridge. They marched behind banner saying 'Bê Serok jiyan nabe' ('Life without the President is impossible').

QAMISHLO

A tent action has been taking place in Qamishlo and Hesekê for six days. Those who came from Til Koçber and Çil Axa took over the vigil in front of the United Nations (UN) representation office in Qamishlo on Monday. On the sixth day, a group from Rimêlan and Girkê Legê took over the vigil. Speaking at the tent of action, Fûad Sadî, from the Democratic Union Party (PYD), said: "The developments in the Middle East today are a continuation of the 1999 conspiracy."

Esma Murad, member of Kongreya Star said: "We want peace and freedom. We demand protection of justice and human values."

HESEKÊ

In Hesekê, tribe and opinion leaders, as well as representatives of political parties and civil society organizations joined the action tent in the city. Youth and representatives of political movements from the districts of Şedade, Mergede and Erîşa took over the vigil.

Speaking on behalf of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement Şedade Administration, Fatma Mihemed denounced the continuing isolation imposed on Öcalan.

PYD Şedade executive Fadıl Ahmed said: "By participating in this action, we are giving everyone the message 'You can't darken our Sun'”.

Making a statement on behalf of the Hesekê Opinion Leaders Assembly, Fixed Cevher from the Şerabî tribe called on the UN and all international organizations to take action and put pressure on Turkey to grant a visit to Öcalan by his lawyers.

Hesekê also protested isolation with a march of thousands of teachers and students. After the walk up to the action tent in the Kelasê neighborhood, Hesekê Canton School co-chair Jînda Ehmê made a statement. "All the peoples of the Middle East, especially the Kurds, must continue in the footsteps of the Leader and the martyrs, continuing their struggle for freedom."

RAQQA

The tent action organised in Raqqa by the Youth Assembly ended with a statemen. Raqqa Military Assembly Commander Meyada Derwîş said that civil and military institutions were acting according to Öcalan's ideas. Democratic Student Movement Member Ehmed Isa read the statement prepared by the activists in which they warned the Turkish state that their patience had been tested to the limit. Isa called on the youth living in Syria to unite against the Turkish occupation.
