Parties within the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM) have issued a joint statement concerning Turkey's attacks on Efrîn canton of Rojava, Western Kurdistan.

The parties pointed out that Turkey is hampering a democratic solution with its support for terrorism and has turned into a source of worries and threats to the entire world, attacking the fighters of the SDF, YPG and YPJ, who are fighting and defeating ISIS.

The statement reads:

"In these last few days statements from Turkey threatening to invade Efrîn and the Shehba region have reached its peak and according to some sources, Turkey is preparing for a huge operation with the participation of 20 thousand force of armed opposition affiliated with itself. This does not benefit the people of Syria at all, that hace faced enormous hardship since the beginning of the crisis.

Turkey's blatant threats against Efrîn are issued at a time when the SDF and YPG are fighting in an intensive battle against the terrorism of the ISIS gangs in Raqqa. This shows very clearly that Turkey wants to reduce the effective pressure on world terror.

With these threats Turkey does not only stymie the operation to liberate Raqqa and other cities of Syria from terrorism, but also blocks the democratic solution. As no solution can be found while those terrorist gangs are still ravaging, Turkey's support for them aims only at prolonging the existence of terrorism what makes itself a source of worries for the whole world; especially since Turkey is attacking the SDF forces, that are defeating ISIS.

We condemn the attacks of Turkey against Efrîn as well as those gangs in Syria it utilizes and we call upon the international community and humanitarian organisations to stop these attacks. We once again call on all Kurdish parties to leave aside all differences in these sensitive process and fulfill their duty in this process.

And we once more call on all people of Northern Syria to unite with SDF and YPG for the defense of Efrîn and the region.”
