People in Manbij demand freedom for Abdullah Öcalan

Dozens of people gathered in the village of Osecilî in Manbij and marched for the freedom of Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Dozens of people in the village of Osecilî, located to the west of Manbij, attended the march promoted by the Young Women's Union to condemn the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and demand his freedom.

During the march from the village center to the health center, banners reading "Leader Öcalan's freedom is the key to peace for the peoples of the Middle East" and "We will tear down the walls of Imrali under the leadership of young women" were carried.

In her speech, Emine Osman, a member of Manbij Young Women's Union, underlined that Abdullah Öcalan has been held in isolation for 24 years and added that the Turkish government wanted to cover up its defeat in the Medya Defense Areas with its attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria.

Emine Osman continued: “We received free will, hope and determination from the Leadership. We will fight until he regains his freedom. His ideas are aimed at solving all the problems of all peoples," he said.

Osman called on international humanitarian and legal organizations, starting from the CPT, to fulfil their duties and work towards the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.
