Peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria continue to express their reactions to the Iraqi government's military deployment to Shengal.
People who had to migrate from Afrin to Shehba claimed that the military activity that has emerged in Shengal is aimed at annihilating the Yazidi community.
Noting that the Iraqi and Turkish states are pursuing new massacres against Shengal and the Yazidi community, Nadiya Oso said that the purpose of the deployment of thousands of troops to Shengal is to besiege the Autonomous Administration that rebuilt Shengal. Oso continued as follows: “The people of Shengal have faced so many massacres. The Yazidi community had to migrate, their women were kidnapped and sold in markets.”
"WE STAND BY THE SHENGAL’S PEOPLE"
Welîd Reşo said: "We have recently received bad news about Shengal. When ISIS gangs attacked Shengal, we didn't see any government helping the people living there. Because of this, we, as the people of Afrin, stand by the people of Shengal and condemn the military action.”
“KDP ACTS ON BEHALF OF THE ENEMY”
Emphasizing that the Iraqi government abandoned the people and fled during the ISIS invasion attack on Shengal, Hacer Sileman said, “The KDP signs agreements to detriment of the Kurdish people. The enemies of the Kurdish people should know very well that the Kurdish people are not the old Kurdish people. We know very well their purpose. The KDP should defend the interests of the Kurdish people, not the enemies.”
Stating that the Turkish state aims to destroy the Yazidi community and the women's struggle, Zekiye Mihemed, a displaced citizen of Afrin, said; “We will never allow the Turkish state to realize its dirty aims against the Yazidi people by standing by the Yazidi community and their women.”
"WE CONDEMN THE MILITARY DEPLOYMENT TO SHENGAL"
Fadil Qasim expressed that, “We do not recognize the agreement made against the people of Shengal. We condemn the Iraqi government's deployment of thousands of soldiers to Shengal. The Turkish and Iraqi government aim to destroy the people of Shengal by introducing new massacres.”
