People in Afrin city centre are protesting against the Turkish state and allied mercenaries that have invaded the city.
Residents of Afrin gathered at the Kawa the Blacksmith Square which had been hit by explosions on June 27. The people are chanting slogans demanding that the Turkish forces and mercenaries leave the city.
Local sources report that demonstrators include some people who have been brought in from Ghouta and settled in Afrin as part of efforts to change the demography of the region. Even these people are reported to be disturbed by the atrocities and repression of the Turkish state affiliated mercenaries.
The protest demonstration has been triggered by the abduction of over 100 civilians in Afrin during the past three days.
During the invasion campaign launched by the Turkish state on January 18, after which they entered the city on March 18, around 500 people were massacred, hundreds of others were kidnapped and tortured and women were raped.
Even some Kurdish collaborative families affiliated to ENKS-KDP have been subjected to torture by the invaders.
Members of Arab tribes such as Bobiyan and Imaret have also been killed although they did not oppose the invasion. While the Bobiyan tribe engaged in clashes on the side of Turkish mercenaries, funeral of a doctor from Imarat tribe turned into protests.
